Firefox add-on can't fill

I've noticed a problem with the Firefox add-on (version 8.10.76.34). I'm using Firefox 138.0.1 on macOS Ventura.

The problem is that it can't fill. That is, it does pop-up a prompt to fill a password, but...

  • Clickin on the pop-up prompt does nothing; it doesn't even register the click
  • Alt-return doesn't fill
  • Selecting Autofill from the mini 1Password doesn't fill

This used to work...

Hello @mschmitt! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues when filling login credentials in Firefox. I can't reproduce the same issue using the same versions of both Firefox and 1Password can you try the following:

  1. Close all open web browsers.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
  3. Double-click on 1Password from your Mac's Applications folder.
  4. Open your web browser.

If that doesn't work then are you using any other extensions aside from 1Password? If you turn those extensions off then do you still see the same issue? And does the issue occur on all websites that you try? Or just some?

It is working now -- maybe just needed to quit Firefox. *

FWIW, I did try disabling every extension other than 1Password. And the issue was on all websites.

* seems obvious in retrospect

@mschmitt

Thanks for the reply. If you see the issue with multiple extensions, not just 1Password, then it sounds like this would be something that the Firefox team will need to investigate further on their end. I recommend that you reach out to their team to find the best way to report the issue.

Next time it starts happening, what should I look for? One thing I can think of is to verify that it is related to a private browsing window, not just more than one window.

A diagnostics report might help shed more light on what's happening here. The next time that the issue occurs, generate a console log:

Attach the console log to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
