Firefox extension not being updated or mainted

Is there going to be any updates coming to firefox extension soon? It's been two months since the extension has been updated and chrome was updated two days ago. It would be nice if the firefox extension got a little bit more love like chrome and was updated more promptly to match current version of everything else in the ecosystem. Thank for the help in advance!

Hello folks,

The latest version of 1Password for Firefox (8.12.21.2) is now available from the Firefox Browser Add-ons store. You can update using this guide: How to keep 1Password up to date in your browser

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to release the new update.

Hello @randomaccountname1337 thanks for reaching out!

Generally speaking, we try to keep updates coming evenly across operating systems and browsers, but it's not always possible to maintain that 100%. Each app store has different processes for allowing an update or app in their store. The Firefox process is quite robust, so sometimes it can take a little longer for updates to be pushed through here. Our team work closely with our friends at Mozilla Firefox to ensure a speedy update, but sometimes it can take a little longer.

With this in mind, you might like to consider using the Beta version which is self-hosted:

Let me know if you have any questions.

@ChrisC1P

The problem is beyond "robust" or a "little longer." The Firefox extension has a long history of being delayed by Mozilla, but this is by far the worst example. I opened a case with support a couple of weeks ago over this too, and they acknowledged there was an issue with getting the extension reviewed by Mozilla. I've asked for another update but haven't heard back yet. The last published release for Firefox was 8.12.4 on 2/24/26. 5 (FIVE!) releases have come and gone with no update to Firefox, including the latest 8.12.12 which was released almost 2 weeks ago.

Using the self-published beta releases misses the point for those of us who want to only use what is marked as stable production.

Please see if you can get a specific update from support about why this keeps happening to 1P with Mozilla and when we can expect it to be resolved.

Thanks.
