Formatting in note field Windows Client

Is it possible to turn off the formatting in the note field in the Windows client? We use this field to store login information for our customers and if the password contains a * then it is used to make the rest of the password italic and is not displayed when the entry is saved. Really annoying. If the entry is viewed in the web gui then the * is visible.

Hello @msandst,

thanks for this question. It is indeed possible to turn off the Markdown formatting in Secure Notes. Here's how you can do it!

  1. Open and unlock 1Password for Windows 8
  2. Select (⋮)
  3. Select Settings > General
  4. Un-check the "Format secure notes using Markdown" option.
