Has something changed: http:// not filling in any more?

For passwords I have that are specifically http:// like on my own Lan, these aren't being suggested any more by 1Password extension in Brave. Anything https:// is working.

And yes I have http:// set as the Website address.

I'm sure this was working until very recently.

Hey everyone! 👋

We’re testing a fix for HTTP filling, including non-HTTPS localhost setups. That fix is already live in the nightly version of the browser extension, and assuming things look good, we’ll roll it into beta and then production next. For now, the workaround is still to copy and paste or drag and drop your credentials.

If you’re willing to help us test, you can grab the nightly builds here (there is no nightly version for Safari): Use 1Password beta or nightly releases

Appreciate everyone’s patience here. If you try the nightly and notice anything weird, definitely give us a shout here in the thread.

Same thing here. Unable to fill any http site. Started recently on Firefox 146.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 11 with 1Password  Extension 8.11.23.2.

Warning: Password fields present on an insecure (http://) page. This is a security risk that allows user login credentials to be stolen.

Error: Failed to fetch moz-extension://eb80eda6-93ca-4f58-b888-5a7ffb4add74/inline/injected.js, Import failed 3 times. Final error: window.crypto.randomUUID is not a function

Still broken for me:

Browser: Firefox 146.0.1
1Password browser extension version: 8.11.23.2
OS: Mac OSX 15.6

Something has absolutely changed. I emailed support, waiting to hear back.

I had issues running Firefox 146.0.1 on macOS 26.1 and 1p extension version 8.11.23.2. I  have since downgraded to extension version 8.11.15.5 and have regained the functionality.

I also had issues on a Windows 10 machine running Chrome 143.0.7499.170 and 1p extension version 8.11.22.27 on Windows 10 22H2.

Exactly the same problem in Safari and Brave, but not in Google Chrome, all Browsers latest versions on my macOS 15.7.3. I downgraded the Brave extension so that it works again. Please fix this urgently!
Thanx

I'm having the same problem. Safari, Brave, Google Chrome – all the latest versions, including the latest extension versions. It only works with Google Chrome. macOS 15.7.3

Please fix this urgently! Thank you.

Please fix this 1Password - it is a really annoying issue. I have had to use a reverse proxy to activate autofill for my self hosted services. It had always worked in the past. Websites which are http (as opposed to https) will not autofill.

I'm seeing similar issue on Firefox
146.0.1 (64-bit)

Was on Version 8.11.23.2 and realized that it was not filling in any HTTP sites (local subnet)
Reverted to Version 8.11.16.35 and seems to be working again.  Any update from support on when we should expect a hotfix?  I'd like to not be running outdated extensions if it can be helped.

Me too.

Just got back from Christmas trying to log into my internal Jenkins server to kick off a build and the password integration is broken. This is a server that isn't accessible from the internet and is never going to be, so I don't know how they expect me to complete a Lets Encrypt challenge to get an SSL certificate for it.

Firefox, Version 8.11.23.2, updated 25th December 2025.

Same for me, unable to autofill any of my non-proxied http-only tools.

  • Chrome 143.0.7499.170, macOS arm64
  • 1Password extension 8.11.27.2

As [ings] pointed out here, it's apparently a known issue https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/1password-doesnt-work-with-synology-nas/165939/replies/166053
