Question

Have login "sections" within other 1Password entry types

Hi there,

As an example of what I am asking for, consider the following:

I have an “Email” entry type, which contains things like the username, password, IMAP/SMTP servers and other info related to the email account.

This email account can also be accessed via my browser through my mail server host’s webmail site. This Webmail site uses the same username and password as the actual email account. However, 1Password does not surface a login option.

I don’t want to duplicate the username and password from the Email entry into a separate 1Password Login entry, as it then becomes a chore to keep them in sync.

If I could designate the username and password within my “Email” 1Password entry as a login (and provide the webmail URL) then this could be surfaced by 1P when I log into the webmail service on my browser. It would also mean all the info and functionality related to my email account is held within a single 1Password entry.

Is this feasible as a future feature? If not, is there a suitable workaround that perhaps I have not identified?

Thanks in advance!

Mark

Hi @MortalWombatUK, thanks for posting!

I can definitely understand how it would be useful to be able to autofill from login sections within other item categories such as “Email”, and I’ve filed your feedback with the team for future consideration.

At the moment our usual suggestion for this scenario is to keep the login credentials in a separate Login type item so it can be filled, but I understand this is far from ideal as it adds the extra work of updating two items if anything changes.
