How to change how often the account password is required for 1Password for iOS

Question

Every two weeks on the iOS app, you disable my FaceID access and I’m forced to enter my password just to get in.

Because you guys have decided the level of security that I need.

That’s not your job. It’s my job.

I already know that if everything goes wrong and my stuff gets lost, you take no responsibility for it.   So why is it that you think it’s your job to tell me how I want my password software to work?

Make it a setting that users can adjust. All the way from “never make me use my password to get in” … to … “require password once a day”.

Let users decide.

FaceID is 1000% secure for all iPhones on planet earth, but your devs think they know better.  As always.

This software has a long-standing history of its developers forcing their opinion on how things should work, on the users. And it’s getting irritating because it’s only getting worse.

I feel bad for the people that have a really complex password just to get into 1password and have to go through steps just to find it every time you guys decide they need to enter it again. This is not your job. Let us decide.

Hello @AgileBurger! 👋I'm sorry for the frustration, this is something that a lot of other users also wrote in about and our team added an option some time ago to give you the ability to decide how often you're prompted for your account password. You can find this option for 1Password on iOS by using these steps: Open and unlock the 1Password for iOS app.Tap the icon for your account or collection at the top left and choose Settings. (If you’re using an iPad, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar.)Tap Security. Set "Require password" to the desired value. You can even choose "Never" if you wish but make sure that you don't forget your account password since you'll still need it if Face ID expires or you want to use 1Password on another device.
