How to I keep 1Password unlocked so I can enter a PW without having to re-enter my Master PW?

I'm sorry for the annoyance. At the moment, this is expected behaviour. Each time that you invoke 1Password using iOS AutoFill from inside of another iOS app you'll need to unlock 1Password. iOS AutoFill is the Apple technology that 1Password uses to fill logins on the iPhone and iPad since iOS doesn't allow 1Password fill logins directly. On the Mac, things are less locked down so 1Password is able to fill logins directly using either the desktop app or 1Password in the browser.

I recommend that you enable biometric unlock so that you don't have to keep typing in your account password each time that you need to unlock 1Password:

• Use Face ID to unlock 1Password on your iPhone or iPad Pro
• Use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your iPhone or iPad

If you're using Safari on your iOS device then you can find a similar experience to what you're used to on the desktop by using 1Password for Safari: Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad

Hmmm... Dave, not an inspiring answer. I think I'm using 1Password for Safari on my iPhone. What else would run on iOS? And, what I described is the behavior I'm seeing on iOS. Not personally a fan of Touch ID or Face ID.

Seems inappropriate to blame this behavior on Apple. 1Password could easily remember that its UID and PW had been correctly entered, say for 10 seconds or 15 seconds, and simply feed Apple whatever the Apple autofill technology requires. That time interval could eve become a user setting.

Can you tell me, is this on anyone's radar in 1Password development? Is there a plan to address it, meaning make it better? It is a nasty usability issue, and it is inconsistent 1Password behavior from one 1Password platform to other 1Password platforms. And when I say that, please don't make the good ones bad just to achieve consistency... I really would like to not have to repeat the PW for every little portion of a transaction. That doesn't seem like too much to ask for. This behavior actually discourages the use of strong passwords for the 1PW master PW. That can't be what y'all want...

Password auto-fill (party of iOS) is also part of how passwords are filled using iOS. Biometric unlock would be the easiest solution. However, as you described not everyone is up for that. However, it would be my first recommendation to help you mitigate this situation you've encountered.

I'd also suggest looking at 1Password for Safari. It seems like you may be using password autofill. The links below will help you determine which method you use.

Maybe I'm confused; certainly not impossible for this to be an ID10T error on my part. Here's a screenshot of what I'm using on my iPhone. Same on another iPhone and an iPad. Is this "iOS for Safari," or is that somehow something else? Says "1Password for iOS."

Nah, you're all good. It can be confusing. That screenshot is 1Password the iOS application. From here you have two options password auto-fill and 1Password for Safari.

The links above can help you decide on which version you're using. What setting do you have enabled if you go back one screen and click Auto-fill?

• Please note it is entirely possible to have both options in use.

Do you recall taking either of those paths? It may be that you never setup either. I have seen that happen and folks are copying the data out of the iOS app as needed. This could certainly cause the behavior you're experiencing if your auto-lock settings are short.
