How to set a default account for saving new passwords

Which browser are you looking to configure? The settings may be different if possible with Safari and vs. the others. For Safari. open 1Password > Preferences > Vaults - Vault for saving and select the desired vault.

For 1Password in the browser flavors like Chrome and Firefox right-click the 1Password icon in the toolbar and select settings and from there look for the save new items in section. Change this to your desired vault.
