How to turn off the Apple Passwords app

On iOS go to settings and look for passwords and fill and you should land on a page with apple. 1p and chrome. You can disable apple there. macOS should be roughly the same 

As I mentioned in my original post, “I’m comfortable with technology, but I’m not a technical person.” I’m just finding 1Password too complex to use across my three platforms, so for now I’m going to turn off 1Password and stick with the Apple password.app. Granted, 1Password has some great features not available in the password.app, but my focus is on maintaining my account information in the simplest way possible. Until the password.app came along, 1Password was great. But I’m just getting tired of being prompted by both apps. For the immediate future, I’ll hang onto my 1Password database until I feel comfortable that my account/password management is settled on my three platforms.

Thanks for the question! You can turn off Apple Passwords for the entire Mac by doing the following:

1. Click on the apple logo in the top right corner of the screen in your menubar, then click System settings. 
2. Click General. 
3. Click Autofill & Passwords. 
4. Turn off "Autofill Passwords and Passkeys".

On your iPhone and iPad, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap General > AutoFill & Passwords.
3. Turn on AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
4. Turn off Apple Passwords.
5. Turn on 1Password.

Thanks Tom … I used the wrong term … thanks for catching that error. I’m totally Apple … MacBook, iPhone and iPad. For now I’ll stick with the password.app.
