How to update from 1Password7 to 1Password8

I have a 1Password subscription. I'm currently running Mac version 7 and would like to update to version 8. I Could you point me to step-by-step instructions, including whether additional payment is required for going from 7 to 8? Many thanks.

Sure.

Download 1Password 8.
Install. You'll need your Emergency Kit and password to add your membership to 1Password 8
1Password will pull in your data from 1Password.com and then zip up the older copy of 1Password 7 to keep it out of the way.

I would highly encourage you to look at updating macOS to the latest version before starting. That would likely be 14.5.

1Password memberships cover the cost of using the apps so there is no additional charge. You're always entitled to the latest version of 1Password, provided your device can use it.
