I'd like to persistently sort my Favorites by Title, but my Logins by Date Modified

I sort my Favorites by "Title, Alphabetically" because they're easier to find (I have 15 items in my Favorites). However, I like to sort my Logins by "Date Modified, Newest First" because that is how I can find my "oldest" items in Logins for verification (I have 721 items in my Logins). I can set these sorts up when I need them, but as I switch between viewing Favorites and Logins, my "preferred" sort order isn't maintained; there seems to be only one sort order setting that gets applied to all items in the sidebar. It would be great if each item in the sidebar would maintain its sort order so that returning to viewing Favorites, for instance, would always show them alphabetically by title, regardless of the sort order used for other items in the sidebar ("All Items," "Credit Cards," etc.).

Thank you for the feedback! Currently, items being sorted the same way across all categories is by design. That being said, I can see how different sorting orders in different categories could be useful to some people and I've filed a feature request with our product team to have them consider such an option.

This is absurd. How can it not retain a sort order preference?

After several years of omitting v8 and just having migrated all my vaults to it, this was the first thing I noticed and is incredibly annoying.

How can you say this is by design? That's poor design. Fix it please. 1Password is way too much of a mature product for this nonsense. I can't believe it.

Welcome to the community! Just to clarify, so that I can make sure that I understand your feedback accuretely: are you not seeing the universal sort order be preserved when you change it in the 1Password desktop app? Or are you wishing to see a different sort order for each different item list like the original poster in this thread?

We’ve fixed an issue where the sorting for an item list wasn’t maintained after you navigated away from the current list. Please update to 1Password version 8.11.8 or later.
