Question

I have an idea... for too many accounts

I really like this software. I would like to make a suggestion based on my experience with it.

Because I have too many accounts, I think it is a good idea to combine projects of the same type together, which I call “multi-line item”.

For example, I now have multiple Instagram accounts that I need to manage. This appears as multiple items in 1password. My idea is to centrally manage, in 1 item.

I think this will greatly increase convenience.
You can think of it like Excel, except each cell now becomes a specific field

Hi @hongivey! Thanks for joining the Community. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying 1Password!

While I'm not sure this is a change that would be implemented, I'd be happy to share your comments with the team. Could you share a bit more about your use case for combining multiple accounts into one item, or what advantage this might offer over other organization options?

To organize multiple items for the same service I would typically recommend using tags and/or vaults. By tagging each item with "social media", "Instagram", or similar you could easily view them as a group in the 1Password apps while keeping each item separate and easy to autofill. You could take a similar approach with a vault as well. Thanks again!

Hi, @1P_Timothy

The advantages are as follows:
When managing multiple accounts of the same type, we can view them all in a single place, with everything clearly visible at a glance. Compared with the current approach—although I can organize and categorize items using tags—there is still an additional step required to switch between them. Moreover, I must expend extra effort to maintain those tags.

In fact, I believe the power of the “multi-line item” extends beyond this.
As I mentioned earlier, you can think of it as a table to which you can freely add rows and columns. This means you can incorporate rich, structured data. Merging multiple accounts into a single project is merely one of its potential uses.

Thanks for sharing those details @hongivey. I can't promise this feature will be added to 1Password, but I've passed along your comments to the team. Thanks again for writing in to share your thoughts!
