Hello, i recently discovered this universal extension for integrating iCloud's Hide my email in any web browser : https://github.com/dedoussis/icloud-hide-my-email-browser-extension

Could 1Password integrate it using this project's code? Thank you so much

Hello @jmigsan, thank you so much for writing in and the details you shared.

I appreciate the Github project you shared, it's very interesting. However, since it's an unofficial project, we wouldn't recommend using that implementation.

Currently with our Fastmail integration, we take advantage of their support for an open technology known as JMAP. I'm not quite sure if there's an equivalent technology/API available from Apple, but you can read more about JMAP and how we built our integration with Fastmail here -> https://blog.1password.com/making-masked-email-with-jmap/.

Nevertheless, I completely understand that iCloud's "Hide My Email" integration would be useful. While I can't make any promises, I've passed along your feedback with our product team in support of this.

I hope that helps!

+1
I would also like to cast my vote for it. 😊

The closest possible integration of operating system functions has always been one of the most appreciated features of 1Passwords.

By the way, I'm not quite sure if this is the way you want me to submit my wishes or suggestions for improvement (via my +1 comment). If you have a different approach (voting option for features) please let me know.

Hello there @accordionmelody, I've shared your feedback with our product team, thank you!

You mentioned:

Submitting a reply for a +1 in a forum thread is absolutely okay. You can also send us an email directly at mailto:support@1Password.com. Either way works for us. 🙂

I hope that helps.

Throwing my hat in the ring here for this feature. 1Password strives to integrate natively with iOS and Mac OS, and this would be a natural extension of that. Proton support while cool, seems like an edge case for most users. I think this feature in either an open source or iCloud implementation would get a lot of use. On the Mac you use Alfred to generate a 10 min temp email. Even that would be a start for iOS. Maybe a benefit of subscribing?

@fancypantz

Thank you for the request. Just to clarify, are you looking for an integration with Apple's "Hide My Email" service? Or would you like 1Password to offer a self-contained masked email alias feature with our own temporary email service and domain?

Have you taken a look at 1Password's Fastmail integration yet: Use 1Password to create and manage Masked Emails in Fastmail

I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Well, I would certainly like to see both.
As far as integration with Apple's "Hide my Email" service, I think you're limited by what Apple provides. I'm not sure if they even allow deeper integration. An optimal solution IMO would be to have an own similar service by 1Password. I understand that your business model is not to offer an email service, but since email addresses are practically our identities on the Internet, a "Hide my Email" service is very helpful for good online security hygiene. Are there any plans for integrations with other "Hide my Email" services like SimpleLogin (now owned by Proton)?

@1P_Dave

I'm looking for integration with Apple's very good “Hide My Email” service.

While a competitive 1Password masked email service would be welcome, given its difficulties with what's already offered, I don't see 1Password as likely to offer its own version that would be better and/or less expensive than what's already out there.

Casting my vote here too. Happy to see either iCloud HME or a 1PW solution. For me FM is not an option as I am not looking to switch email providers, just looking for the forwarding from a trusted party. I can create an entry manually in iCloud and then add in 1PW but it is not as convenient as the rest of the service. 😅 But I understand this is a can of worms as this is essentially a mail service.
