Question

id.me being used on multiple websites

One of the features I like about 1Password is the open/autofill capability associated with each login/password. Now that US government websites are using id.me, it looks like I need to create separate 1Password login entries for each website. Of course, the password and userid will be the same in each 1Password login entry. However, if I ever change the id.me password, then I'll have to remember to change the password in each login entry.

Is there an easier way to directly go to the login page for each government website using a single id.me entry? I don't want to have to remember the specific website for each government site.

Thanks.

Hi there @joisagile

You can add multiple websites to a single item. You could label them individually, and then use the "Open & fill" feature by clicking on a specific website to go directly to it, like this:

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

So doesn't this blow holes in the notion of password re-use prevention?

The example above shows all the same domain. There are no constraints against any old set of domains.

@dhalonen

In general, I recommend that you use random and strong passwords that are unique for every website that you use. There are some cases though where that isn't possible and 1Password allows you to add multiple website addresses as needed to a Login item.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I can help further.
