If Android is offline: 1Password app misbehaves

I have the latest version of the 1Password app on my Samsung Galaxy S23. When the phone is online the app works as expected. But when the phone is offline (e.g. on a plane, or without coverage) then the app has misbehaved several times now: The app either shows a blank screen after opening, or only shows partial matches on search, or it is extremly slow to display data. I am aware that making changes when offline has limitations, but I just need to look up a password (read). I am worried that  1Password will fail me in a situation where I need a password urgently but my phone has no connectivity.

Any insights are appreciated.

Thanks

Update: I also notice that if my phone regains connectivity while 1Password is open and I click the 'reconnect' button then the app just sits forever 'reconnecting ...', while other apps can connect to the Internet just fine. I have to explicitly close 1Password and reopen it before it reconnects. Something seems wonky with the connectivity behavior in 1Password on Android/Samsung.

Hi @tebr99, this definitely doesn't sound like intended behaviour, and I'm sorry for the disruption this is causing.

So that our team can investigate further, I'd like to ask you to reproduce both issues - the misbehaviour while your device is offline, and the trouble reconnecting afterwards. After this, create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from your Android device:

Send a diagnostics report (Android)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/if-android-is-offline-1password-app-misbehaves/170707

You'll receive a reply with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks!

Hi @1P_Gem , thanks for the reply. I have trouble reproducing it. As soon as I am able, I will send a report.
