Question

Invalid pop-up asking for a passkey

I'm on macOS 26 using the Safari web browser. Every time I go to chase.com, (and a few other web sites) 1Password presents the following pop-up.

As far as I can tell, searching through chase.com's security settings, they do not yet support passkeys. My 1Password entry for chase.com does not give me the banner that chase.com supports passkeys, offering for me to use passkeys.

How do I get 1Password to stop presenting this dialogue for websites that do not support passkeys?

Hi @vjcinajr,

I see that we have an issue opened internally for this issue on Chase's website. I've gone ahead and added your report to it.

In the "Autofill & save" section of the extension's settings, you can disable the "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" option, but this would disable it for all websites. To confirm, do you have passkeys saved for the other websites where you're seeing the issue? If not, do those websites have an option to enable passkeys?

Trevor,

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I do have many passkey entries inside 1Password for other sites. Therefore, I will not be disabling auto fill globally.

Hi @vjcinajr,

That is understandable! If you do run into any other issues (apart from the Chase one), let us know and we'll be happy to help.

Try this if it applies to this login for Chase:

  1. In 1Password app go to Watchtower
  2. Select Category: "Passkey available > Show Items >"
  3. Scroll to and click on your saved Chase login
  4. In the right side pane you should see a purple section indicating "Passkey available" (see pic)
  5. Click on "Ignore". Done.
