Question

iPhone Always Allow not an option

I use 1Password on my Apple devices and on most apps, it will fill in the login and password fine. On one particular app, there is never a fill in option. If I then click the Passwords button which takes me to 1Password, I need to search for the appropriate item and then select it to fill in the password. The message says:

Fill Anyway?

1Password can't verify the app or website should have access to your *** login.

The only options presented are Allow Once or Cancel.

On the 1Password help page "Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad" it says Always Allow should be an option to choose. Is there some way to get the item to always associate with this app?

Thank you.

Typically, this often indicates the app does not have an associated domain associated with it. If it did you would see the option for more than once. In the absence of that associated domain you'll see once because we have no way to associate 1Password with it on an ongoing basis. Is the app name one you wish to share? I can check on my side. Though, it's likely not needed. Your post has all the hallmarks of the specific situation I find myself in with some apps.

Thank you for your reply. The app is the Princess Cruises app.

Hey Bracer,

I tried but was unable to fill in the app. Above the wording "Allow Once" and below the text "Fill Anyway?" you should see a warning that 1Password is unable to verify the app should have access to the login. That's generally shown when no associated domain exists. The only resolution I know of would be to contact the app developer and ask them to support Apple's associated domains.

Welcome to the community! All password managers on the iPhone and iPad use iOS Autofill and rely on the app that they're filling into to have set an associated domain so that the app can be matched to your saved login in that password manager. You can find Apple's documentation for third-party app developers here:

Which app are you having trouble with? It's possible that they updated the app since you last used it in the past.

I have the same problem with 1Password regarding some iPhone apps, Dave. Here's a specific one. The domain 1Password complains about is the one that I've already created for logins to the address in question. I'm sure it's not always easy for 1Password to know what address to associate with a poorly-behaved app.

Example: Honeywell Home app "TCC" (which uses https://mytotalconnectioncomfort.com). 1Password in iPhone literally tells me: "Fill anyway? 1Password can't verify the app or website should have access to your Mytotalconnectcomfort Honeywell login." So every single time that I need to log into that app, search/choose/"Allow Once".

It would be great if we could tell 1Password iPhone to remember association of a specific 1Password entry to a specific app. There's got to be a better way.
