Is it a matter of Unlocking the 1P app on my Mac to eliminate a password requirement?

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with the auto-lock settings in 1Password, and I'd be happy to provide more information on what settings to change.

You can also setup Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your Mac without your password.

Hi Eli, I'll copy what I just wrote to another 1P support person that contacted me. Sorry if it's redundant, but maybe it will help to get engineering to take a look. Let me know if you don't understand anything about my observations and feature requests. Thanks.

I'll start with one other question that I have not been able to find an answer to: What will happen if I select Lock in the drop down menu of the app (as shown in the attached image)? Does this immediately lock the app while I have it open? I don't understand why anyone would want to do that. If I'm working in the app, why would I want to select Lock to lock it?

Next:
The settings do not prevent the app from requiring the login password on my Mac, when I launch the app. I’ve set the security parameters to Never, but each time I open the app, after it has been quit, it asks for my password. Since I’m on an isolated Mac in my home studio, it’s not subject to anyone else’s access. Even if the Mac is sleeping, it requires my computer password to wake, so I should then not be forced to enter the 1Password password.

This should be an easy fix for engineering. A simple, Do Not Require Password at Launch preference/setting. Most login passwords are lengthy, so it’s not ideal to require typing that in every time I launch the app. I have a small utility app, Copy Clip, that remembers copied items, so this makes it easier, but it still takes me several clicks to access the password, copy it and then paste into 1P.

Please submit this as a needed feature request.

Also, please submit a feature request for custom categories to be added. Tags seem to accomplish what I want for now, but everyone has way more categories than the built in ones. They just don't have the little custom icon. IMO, this is something that will enhance the user experience greatly. Categories such as Entertainment, Insurance, Auto, Home Mac Software, TV & Music Streaming, Photo/Video, Cloud Storage accounts, etc. I could go on and on, but suffice to say, it would be great if the system allowed creating your own categories and adding your own icon. For now, tho, it seems that the Tags do the same thing, minus the customization of look. Along with this feature should be the ability to drag any item onto the category shown in the sidebar, for it to be immediately added to that category list.

Hope you’ll be able to inform engineering about these important feature requests.
