Keyboard shortcuts conflict with other apps

This was posted abut years ago but is still an issue.

I am on Tahoe 26.5.1, and sometimes keyboard shortcuts configured through e.g. Raycast or Alfred stop working. The issue is always that the 1Password app is open and prompting me to sign in with TouchID. Once I quit the 1Password app, the shortcuts work again.

Hello @mvpalsson! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! The issue that you linked to appears to discuss a conflict with the Command-Shift X in the browser, is there a specific 1Password shortcut that is causing a conflict in your case? And what version of 1Password are you currently using?

My apologies if I’ve misunderstood but it sounds like this isn’t about a keyboard shortcut conflict where 1Password and another app use the same shortcut but more about keyboard shortcuts not working in general in other apps while 1Password is open. But please let me know if I’ve misunderstood.

Yes, that’s correct.

If 1Password is *open and unlocked* in the background, the shortcuts work fine.

The issue is when 1Password is when 1Password is open and *locked*. The way that I notice this is that all keyboard shortcuts configured through e.g. Raycast stop working. I then click the 1Password icon, and it’s “open”, but prompting me to use TouchID to sign in. Once I sign in, and force quit, the shortcuts work again.

I have no keyboard shortcuts configured within 1Password itself.

@mvpalsson

Thank you for clarifying! It sounds like you’re running into a known issue with Secure Input that’s being discussed here: Secure Input blocking other apps event taps

Our development team is currently investigating and working on a fix. Please see the pinned reply, as well as my latest reply from today, in that thread. I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
