Keychain passkey prompt keeps popping up (Safari)

When I go to a site to either create or use a passkey, the OS keeps prompting me to store my passkeys in keychain, interfering with 1Password's passkey prompt. If I can click on 1Password's prompt first, it works. If not, I have to cancel the OS's prompt, which usually causes the web form to fail or think I canceled the login attempt.

I have passkeys & password autofill turned off in my Mac's settings and I also have autofill turned off in Safari.

How can I stop the OS from trying to take over? See images below.

Hello, @Stevanski99. Thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you're running into with 1Password for Safari.

I noticed the 1Password of Safari version is out of date. Can you check if updating it to the latest version (2.26.1) improves the behaviour? -> https://support.1password.com/update-1password-browser/#safari

Hi Evon. Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't realize that I had App Store updates turned off. Once I allowed the Safari extension to update, the issue resolved itself. I also now have automatic updates enabled. Thanks again!

I'm having the same issue - when logging into google accounts. I've turned off all of the Safari options for passwords, etc.

1Password Version: 8.12.6 81206039 Production
Extension Version: 8.12.5.2
OS Version: macOS Tahoe 16.3.1 (25D2128)
Browser: Safari 26.3.1 (21623.2.7.11.7)

I'm also having this issue and am on the latest version of the extension. It's definitely a 1Password issue. Same thing does not occur when using the Proton Pass extension.
