Latest 1P Browser Fill Bugs

I just updated it to the latest 1P version. In Safari, the autofill is buggy. The site https://secure.chase.com/ was working immediately before upgrading, and now the only way to autofill is with a Shortcut key. The 1P icon does not show in the login box. I tried clicking the 1P browser icon, but it does not fill.

When logging into sites like Cisco.com with username and password prompts on separate pages, the password field does not autofill as it did in previous versions of 1P. I have to click in the box on both the username and password pages to autofill. I also confirmed this same behavior in Chrome.

1Password Version: 8.10.36
Extension Version: 2.25.1
OS Version: 14.5
Browser: Safari

Hello @mdvzo, thank you for writing in.

I'm sorry about the issue you are running into when using 1Password to autofill your credentials on Chase's website. There is a known issue on https://secure.chase.com where 1Password in the browser has trouble auto-filling properly. I assure you our development team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. I added you as an affected user to our internal reporting.

In the meantime, this Autofill issue does not affect Chase's homepage on https://www.chase.com/. If you navigate directly to https://www.chase.com/, can you autofill your credentials?

May I ask what steps you take when using 1Password to autofill on the Cisco website?

I've done some testing on https://id.cisco.com and have been able to recreate the same behaviour. I also noticed the username cached after signing in, so the email was already filled in. However, after using the Autofill menu from 1Password below the username field, the password did not autofill on the next page; I had to click inside the password field.

I reviewed the page structure, and the password field has the "autocompleteType" "off" attribute set. I created an issue for our development team for further investigation.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

@mdvzo

Our developers made improvements to the 1Password experience on websites that use a technology called Shadow DOMs (Like the Chase website) in the latest update to 1Password in the browser. Thanks for confirming that these improvements have resolved the issue on your end.

If you do see any other issues then let me know. 🙂

I do have another browser login issue: I set up Google.com Passkey on my MacBook but cannot login with Passkey on my MacBook mini. My iPhone works. On my MacBook mini, I am prompted for a QR code, and I have to scan the code with my phone and use 1P on my phone to log in.

I confirmed that my vault is in sync and that the Passkey exists on my mini and I restarted 1P.

Looks like it required me to restart Safari on my mini for it to start working.

@mdvzo

I'm happy that restarting Safari got things working again, let me know if the issue comes back and I can dig deeper. 🙂
