Login icons not showing after an import

Hi, I have an existing vault where my icons for all my login items show, everything is fine etc. However I've created a new vault and have imported from bitwarden a large amount of entries.

Even though I have 'Show app and website icons' selected, none of the icons for the imported sites show (just the default first and second letter. If I then go into one of these imports and remove the part of the website URL and add back, the icon then appears. So its as if its not triggering to look these up on import.

I've tried production and nightly build but both the same result. Anyway to force an icon lookup for a vault, or to fix the import issue? Keen to move some family members over to a subscription plan, but obviously the nice to look at bit will become the most important part!

Hello @urbaniser! 👋

Welcome to 1Password! I'm sorry that you're not seeing rich icons for your imported items, I suspect that you're running into an issue that our development team is currently looking into. If you edit one of the affected items and then save the edit, does the icon appear?

If the answer is yes then that confirms that you're running into the issue. For the moment, the only workaround is to edit the affected items and hopefully a fix will be released soon.

Hi Dave, thanks for getting back.

Yes, thats exactly it. Though I notice I don't even have to modify, just selecting edit then save updates the icon.

Is this a new bug or around for a while, curious as to whether it'll be fixed soon or just in the backlog?

Thanks.

Hi @urbaniser,

I'm glad to hear that works for you! The issue is somewhat new, so we don't have any information to share as to when a fix may become available at this time.

Hey
I encounter the same issuse I just switched from bitwarden to 1password and was pretty disappointed seeing that this is a bug and hasn't been fixed for such a long time more than a month. Keep me updated when it gets fixed and I hope it will automatically detect icons after I imported all my password because I don't wanna import them again. Thanks!

Hi @snaker2345, thanks for letting us know that you're running into this issue as well.

I've shared your report with our developers so they can see the impact this is having. I don't have any updates to share just yet, and I do apologise for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Thanks for the update, @1P_Gem - appreciate you flagging this to the dev team. It's now been several months since SET-22 was first identified, and I'm still hitting it on every imported item. I have over 700 credentials on my own account, and was hoping to move my family onto a shared subscription plan soon too - but I'm hesitant to put everyone through a bulk import (and the manual edit-to-fix workaround) until this is resolved.

Is there any update on where this sits on the priority list, or a rough sense of timeline? Happy to share diagnostics or logs if that would help.
