Logins vs Passwords

Thanks for the question! Older versions of 1Password would save a password item when generating a new password for a website in certain situations in order to prevent that password from being lost. The current version of 1Password no longer saves these password items and instead saves a password history that is accessed from the 1Password pop-up in the browser.

I see the year 2020 under the name of the password items in your screenshot, which would be the year that those items were created when you might have been using the previous version of 1Password.

Do you see your correct password in the "Barnes and Noble" login item? Is there any information in the "barnesandnoble.com" password items that you need to keep?

No, i can delete the old password items (For this login which was just an example) as well as others. the password history does appear to be in the login items. Thanks.

attached is a pic of one entry updated 2/13/2023 which the password entry is the current password in the login entry (and the login has the prior password in history). I could not tell you if I was still on V7 or V8 back in 2023.

As long as all of the information that you need to keep (including your current password) is saved in the corresponding Login items then you can delete the old Password items.

Just in case, I've removed your screenshot for your privacy since it contained a revealed password (even if you don't use it anymore). Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
