Including 1Password Communities! This seems like a major faux-pas (everything was working fine before the update). Autofill still works on some sites.

macSO 26.3 with Safari 26.3. 1Password 8.12.5, 1Password for Safari 8.12.4.

Hello folks,

We've just released a new update for Safari which resolves an a known issue that would prevent autofill from working properly on certain websites. Please update 1Password for Safari to version 8.12.5

Thank you for your patience while we worked to release a fix for the autofill issue. If you're still seeing autofill issues after updating then please open a new discussion here and include the following:

UPDATE: Reverting to the previous version of 1Password for Safari (8.12.2) restores normal functionality. So looks like 8.12.4 is very broken...

How do you revert to 8.12.2? I couldn't find the way to do it on the 1password website. Thanks

I restored the 1Password for Safari app from a Time Machine backup from just before I updated it.

Agree version 8.12.4 does not fill anything for Mac in Safari. It shows you al list of choices but you cannot select them. This new version appears completely broken. Was working fine until this latest update.

The 1Password for Safari beta Release Candidate: 8.12.6-35 (aka build 81206035) also fixes this. My guess is it is related to "fixed an issue where turning off the option to offer and fill logins and other items in fields could cause other features to stop working properly. [[!35329]]"

If you don't want to revert, you can also temporarily go forward by installing this version. You will need Apple TestFlight (installed via the App Store) and then use this link from the Beta page:

Hello folks,

Our development team is aware of an issue where autofill isn't working on certain websites in Safari when using version 8.12.4. A fix has already been coded for the issue and is currently being tested in the beta version of 1Password for Safari (8.12.6): Use 1Password beta or nightly releases

For the time being, you can use Universal Autofill to fill your logins in Safari instead if you'd like to avoid using the beta version of 1Password for Safari.

The team is working to release the fix to the production version of 1Password for Safari as quickly as possible and I'll update this post as soon as a fix is available. I'm sorry for the disruption caused by the issue.

For me Universal Autofill was already in use with the Safari Extension bug not working when clicking on saved logins, so not a viable solution for me.. At the time running both product releasees of 1Password for Mac and the 1Password for Safari Extension. However, getting hooked into the pre-release 1Password for Safari Extension through TestFlight has seen the best results in fixing the mouse/trackpad clicking issue for multiple websites with that issue.

Hi there - seems like htis may be a known issue still, but Safari on my MacBook Pro (M4Pro, 2024 model) is not filling in 1Password user/passwords when clicked.

I've updated, restarted, etc. etc., but still not able to use the browser. Yes, it works on Chrome and others; however, I prefer Safari as it uses less power and memory.

Anyone with a bug fix by chance?

I am having the same issue for two days. only on some sites. I hope they find a fix. Per 1P Chat they are having issues and try beta. But beta did not fix my issue,

I am on 8.12.8 and still have the issue. Appears the issue is not resolved.

1Password (8.12.5) suddenly stopped working in Safari. I am able to see the passwords related to the site I am on, but clicking on the password or selecting Auto Fill from the toolbar menu no longer does anything.

I must now manually copy my username and password from the 1Password app into the appropriate fields on the login pages.

I tried restarting my MacBook Pro and reinstalling the 1Password for Safari app/extension (8.12.4). Neither of these resolved the issue.

I've been having the same issue since yesterday and completed the same steps you did. I also uninstalled/reinstalled the main macOS app, which didn't change the outcome.

Been having this problem for some time now:  When trying to login to a site, 1P recognizes the site but when you click to fill the credentials it will not fill in, requiring the copy and  paste method.  Does not happen on all sites but does happen too often.

In fact it happens right here when I try to login to the forum -see screenshot.
