MacOS web logins and IOS Apps

I am bouncing between my Mac and my iPhone. My bank account (as an example) works great on MacOS as I login through the browser.  On iOS, there is a dedicated app and I cannot get the saved login to trigger. I tried saving a "new" password for iOS to find out the website associated with the app or the trigger but one is not offered. I have this for a number of apps... how should I configure to use the same entry for both Mac and IOS?

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with autofill on your iOS device. Can you tell me if you've already setup autofill to work with 1Password on your iOS device: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

If that's already setup correctly then what happens when you tap on a username or password field in the bank's iOS app? Do you see a suggestion or a key icon appear above the keyboard? If you tap on the key icon above the keyboard then do you see your Login item appear so that you can tap and fill it? Or do you need to search for the Login item?

Dave, it works for other things… It’s all set up… But for this app the key comes up 1Password searches and doesn’t find anything if I search and say Phil once it will, but it won’t let me fill always

Thank you for the reply. On the iPhone AutoFill is specifically handled by iOS through an Apple feature named iOS Password AutoFill and 1Password only provides the data for the experience.

Password AutoFill will match the apps that you use to your login items in 1Password by taking the associated domain associated with an app and comparing it against the website URL in your login items. If there is a match then Password AutoFill will offer to fill your login information. If your login item is not being suggested for a particular app then you'll need to add the app's associated domain to your login item in 1Password. When you tap on the username or password field in an app you'll see the Password AutoFill prompt appear (above your keyboard), tap on the prompt and then search for the appropriate login item. Then, tap on that Login Item and tap Fill & Update Login.

1Password will add the app’s associated domain to the Login Item so that, the next time you try to login to that app, Password AutoFill will suggest the right login. If you don't see Fill & Update Login when you search for and tap on a Login Item then it means that the developer of that app hasn't added an associated domain and there is nothing for Password AutoFill to use to match the app to a Login item in 1Password. This means that you'll need to search for the correct Login item each time. 

If the app doesn't have an associated domain then I recommend reporting the issue to the developer of the app in question so that they can look into this further.
