Managing vaults created by a family member

"I am a member of a 1Password Families plan. In addition to my default Private vault, I created a new vault in my account. Can the Family Organizer see this vault from their dashboard? If so, what management permissions do they have? (It mentions under the vault settings that it can be managed by the organizer). Currently, I am the only person with full permissions on this vault, but I would like to clarify what the organizer can actually see and do. Specifically, can they view, modify, or delete the items inside, or delete the vault itself, even though I have exclusive management access?

I just tried it. I am the owner of a family plan, and have a second 1Password user for machines under “outside control”, where it’s possible that some kind of corporate spyware can do things without my knowledge.

  • Using the 1Password desktop app, logged into the “secondary” account (which is NOT the family’s organizer), I created a new vault.
  • Using the 1Password desktop app, logged into the primary account, I am not able to see that vault.
  • Using the https://TEAM_NAME.1password.com/ web interface, logged into the primary account, I can see the vault and manage its permissions, but I cannot view the items in the vault (the “View Vault” button isn’t there).
  • Using the web interface, logged into the primary account, I can give myself access to the vault. When I do this, the “View Vault” button appears in the web interface, and the vault appears in my desktop app.

Hope this clarifies things for you.
