Meaningful update to 1Password 8 now that 1Password 7 won't sync
Like many, I received the message that “1Password 7 will no longer sync with membership accounts in early 2027.”
I have both 1Password 7 & 8 on my phone and still think 7 is much better. Since 1Password is forcing us to only use 8 by breaking syncing with 7, we need some meaningful changes to 1Password 8. I’m sure there has been many under the hood changes, but cosmetically it’s been the same since launch.
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but 2 things would make a big difference for me. My suggestions are mostly for the iOS version, but I would gladly take them on the Windows version as well.
1) Please give us a font selection option in 1Password 8 (or at least a 1PW 7 theme option). The font in 1Password 7 was so much easier to read, and the colors seemed brighter. This seems like an easy thing to implement, but one of the things that has kept me on 1Password 7.
2) Why is the password strength next to the password, why can’t it be underneath? I’ve always created randomly generated 20 character passwords. This isn’t as big of a deal on the Windows version as there is more space, but on the iOS version it always breaks my passwords into two lines, increasing the difficultly to read.
I’ve provided an example image. Why don’t we have these basic things 4 years into 1PW 8?
