Menu bar not selectable upon launch

Question

When first launched, 1PW 8 does not respond when selecting a menu in the menu bar. I switch to another space (using Mission Control, and access a menu. Then I go back to 1PW 8 and the menus work as expected. I am using MBP 2021 M1 Max
