Multiple Authentications when using 1P on an iPad

Hi, I’m having an annoying issue with multiple Authentications  using 1P on an iPad Air/OS26.1.  Specifically, when I’m prompted to enter website credentials I fetch the username (and authenticate with Touch ID); copy & paste; then am prompted for the password, again I summon 1P but have to authenticate _again_ before I can copy/paste the password. Too much clicking and moving to Apple’s TouchID! What am I missing? TIA, -Ess-

Hello @EssEmm! 👋

I'm sorry that you're being prompted to unlock 1Password more often than expected. Try adjusting your auto-lock settings:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password on your iPad.
  2. Tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and choose Settings.
  3. Set "Auto-Lock on exit" to a longer time period so that the 1Password app doesn't lock immediately.

You can read more about auto-lock here: Manage your unlock and auto-lock settings in 1Password

You mentioned that you were copying and pasting your passwords, you can setup AutoFill to have 1Password fill them directly: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

Let me know if that doesn't help.

Hi Dave,
Doesn’t help.  I have to hit Touch ID + authenticate before each field is auto-populated.

M3 iPad Air, Magic Keybd, iPadOS 26.2.1. TIA,
