New chrome extension doesn't offer passkey login first

On my work PC, I use the 1P extension in Chrome standalone, without a desktop app.

There is a website I use multiple times a day, which by default asks for a login/password, but has an optional passkey login which provides elevated privileges.

1P used to show the passkey modal as soon as I opened the site, I had one click to do and it would log in through the passkey without any interaction on the website.

Since the latest update, the modal offers the username/password login, to log using the passkey I have to do multiple clicks to force the website to ask for the passkey, then 1P detects it and updates the modal to offer the passkey login.

Could it be possible to revert to the previous behaviour?

Hi @poussah, thanks for posting!

Could you let me know which website this is happening with, so I can do some testing on my end?

If this is something you’d rather not share on a public forum, or if it’s an internal company website I wouldn’t be able to access for testing, please email in to support@1password.com with a link to this thread and your forum username, so our support team can dig into this further with you.

I’d rather not give the URL here, email sent. Thank you.
