new interface is great

but

lets say i want to use a passkey that is stored outside of 1password, like a yubikey or on my phone. i get prompted to sign into 1p by the plugin… at this point i should be able to either sign in, OR just click the X on the popup and go about my business. but no, it tells me i need to sign in. and if i refuse and click the X, it does not pass control along to the passkey interface.

Hi @rc454661, thanks for posting. I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having using passkeys stored outside of 1Password alongside the new autofill experience.

Could you answer the questions below for me:

  • Which web browser are you using, and are both 1Password and your browser fully up to date?

  • Does this happen with every website for which you have a non-1Password passkey, or only specific ones (and if specific, could you provide an example)?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I get this issue also, chrome only & macOS I have to turn off “Intergrate this extention with the 1password desktop app” for it to offer passkeys properly to me & while “Use Universal sign in for logins” set to off used to work on older extention versions now it does nothing its like it’s allways forced. however on firefox where it’s not using the universal sign in yet 0 issues.

this chrome issue i tested is happening on both my old machine macOS Big sur 11.7.11 & a M1 mac running macOS Tahoe.

& yes the passkey issue happens on any site that utilizes it, PSN login, gov logins, banks etc..

Hi @XxUnkn0wnxX, thanks for taking the time to share these details!

I’d like to have our support team look into this further, as I’m not sure what the intended behaviour is here, but this definitely doesn’t sound quite right. Could you email in to support@1password.com with a link to this thread, and your forum username?

You’ll receive a Support ID number. Please post that here, so we can join the dots. Thanks!
