New Firefox Tab shows No Passwords

In the latest version of 1pass for Firefox, if I click on a new tab, then click on my 1Pass extension, normally, I expect to be able to look through all my sites and choose open and fill.

However, now, if I do this, no pages, links, passwords show up, even if I try searching for one, because it is looking for passwords for a blank page.

It is really annoying. The only way to work around it is to select 1Pass while on another page. Can this be fixed?

Thanks for the ping! I can confirm that a fix has now been released in 1Password for Firefox 8.11.0.25 (BETA). The stable version of 1Password for Firefox was never affected.

If you run into any other issues then let me know.

Hello @wmdalvarez! 👋

Thanks for reaching out. When I open a new tab in Firefox I see the Firefox Home screen:

Open the 1Password pop-up in this tab shows me my favorites. So that I can better understand the situation, does Firefox Home open when you open a new tab? Or another page? Do you see an address in the address bar on a new tab?

The same is happening to me, and it's very frustrating. @1P_Dave, I too get to the Firefox homepage when I open a new tab, but none of the credentials are available, not even favorite or recommended ones. Searching yields nothing. It's just like an complete empty vault.

However, when I'm on an active tab with a url, opening the extension works exactly as expected. I tried it on this page as I was writing, and sure enough, no issue. However, open a new tab, and the extension fails to load any credentials.

I opened the new tab, went to a site, and opened the extension: credentials were there. I then clicked the back button back to the Firefox home tab: no credentials loaded.

Worth noting I'm using the 1Password Beta extension, Mac OS 15.4.1 (24E263), Firefox 139.0.1 (aarch64).

@wmdalvarez and @madrigal_Josh

Thanks you both for reporting the issue, I've been able to reproduce the same behavior in Firefox when using the beta version of 1Password for Firefox.

It looks like our team is already testing a fix for the issue internally, hopefully it'll be released to the beta version soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
