Newlines not displaying in item notes

When I add newlines to the "notes" section of a Login item, I expect those newlines to be displayed when viewing the item.

Instead, here's what happens. When I'm editing the note, I can see the newlines. But after I hit save, the note is displayed without newlines. In the display, all the lines run together.

1Password is saving the newlines - if I hit edit, they are all shown again. But outside of edit mode, 1Password does not display the newlines.

What this is not:

This is not a markdown formatting problem. I have that option turned off. Turning that option on made no difference.

This is not about Secure Note items. This is about the "notes" section in a Login item.

This appears to be a problem with all multiline text fields in 1Password. This just started with the update to 8.10.52.

I have some very long multiline notes (both as standalone Secure Notes and as "notes" sections within Login items). Those used to be readable, but now they're all run together in one big mass of text with no line breaks. This makes them unreadable. They looked fine last week, so this must be a bug in the latest version of 1Password.

I have the "Format secure notes using Markdown" option turned off. When I turn that option on, it has no effect on the "notes" sections of Login items. Turning on that option does affect the appearance of Secure Notes.

I'm sorry that notes aren't being rendered properly in the latest version of the 1Password for Mac desktop app. Our development team is currently testing a fix in the nightly version of 1Password, once testing is complete the fix will graduate to the beta and then the stable version.

For the time being the two best workarounds are:

Temporarily, turn on markdown formatting in the desktop app: 1Password > click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar > Settings > General > Turn on "Format Secure Notes using Markdown". After turning on markdown you'll need to click on another item and then click on an affected item to see the change take effect.
If you have items that don't play well with markdown then, for now, you can use the 1Password.com web app to view those items. The web app doesn't currently support markdown formatting and is not affected by the issue. You can access the web app by logging in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app).

I installed the latest nightly:

1Password for Mac 8.10.54 (81054019)

I can confirm that this display problem has indeed been resolved in that version of 1Password for Mac.

This is with the "Format secure notes using Markdown" option off.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to getting this fix in to the stable channel.
