I have setup up 2 Yubikeys and yet when I loin to the web site directly I only have to give my master password. How do I enforce 2FA using those keys. I also use Chrome with the 1password extension

Hi @barri! Thanks for joining our community.

After setting up 2FA for your account, your Yubikey or TOTP will be required to sign in to your account on a new device, but not each time you sign in. After you enter your second factor, 1Password won’t ask you to enter one again unless you sign out on that device completely, change your email address or account password, regenerate your Secret Key or have your account recovered, or set require two-factor authentication on the next sign-in on that device. There is no setting to require your second factor on each sign in. You can find more in our guide

Thanks again!

Slightly disappointed. 1password is the most sensitive app on my laptop and I would hate anyone having access to my laptop and/or credit cards, bank info etc so I'd be happy to have a more secure login even if it created an extra step for me. Yes I realise that 1password is a secure app but it would be nice to add another level of security from my laptop. So I have marked it as a solution even though it really isn't what I'm after

Hi @barri, thanks for your feedback on this. I'm glad I could provide some context, but I'm sorry to disappoint. I can't promise this is a feature we'll add, but I've filed a feature suggestion internally for an option to always require 2FA on your behalf.

If you haven't had the chance, it might be worth checking out the lock options under Settings > Security in our apps. There are quite a few options to dial in on how and when 1Password locks and unlocks. I understand it's not quite what you're looking for but it might offer some peace of mind to know 1Password will lock after one minute of idle time, or any time your laptop locks for example. Let us know if there's anything we can help with!
