Not prompted to save a new password in Safari / DuckDuckGo

The Duck Duck Go browser would not be able to save a password as it does not support 1Password in the browser. When using it you would need to manually save the entry in 1Password and then use something like Universal Autofill to fill the password. To my knowledge DDG does not support any extensions. If they recently started and I am behind please let me know.

If 1Password generated the password for you, you may be able to find the password using the password generator. Can you provide additional details on how you generated it? If you're using multiple password managers simultaneously then one of the other managers likely saved the details. That's could be one reason for 1Password not offering to save a login. I suspect the main trouble is the DDG browser in this situation. I wish they supported extensions or a select group of curated extensions.

Good grief no wonder i never feel safe. Im using non working DD. But I did not get warned by 1P 8.10.44 either, that must mean i dont have 1P setup correctly. Would you point-bookmark to where i just save my data, then reinstall 1P8.10.44 or the latest for Mac. I may have never set up fully the subtle switches correctly. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. To confirm, are you using two different web browsers, Safari and DuckDuckGo? Or are you using Safari as your web browser and the DuckDuckGo website as the search engine?

If you're using Safari with the 1Password for Safari browser extension, here's how you can search the Password Generator History:

1. Open Safari.
2. Click the 1Password icon in Safari's toolbar (beside the website address bar).
3. Click the menu icon ( ☰ ) and select Password Generator > Password Generator History.

If you've used 1Password in the browser to save a generated password, it will appear in the Password Generator History.

Additionally, could you share any examples of websites where 1Password in the browser does not offer to save a password?

If you're only using the Safari browser, and not the DuckDuckGo browser, then using DuckDuckGo as the search provider in Safari shouldn't cause any issues. If I misunderstood and you are using the DuckDuckGo browser then let me know.

In Safari, I don't recommend using two different password managers at the same time since it can lead to confusion about where a certain password is stored or uncertainly about which password manager is offering to generate a password. The best path forward is to make sure that 1Password has all of your passwords and then to turn off iCloud Keychain: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser

Can you confirm that you have 1Password for Safari installed: ‎1Password for Safari on the Mac App Store

Yes, the extension is installed in Safari. Searching in Safari is bt DUCKDuckGo. I do not trust 1p will always save or remind me to save from experience.

Using multiple password managers at the same time can produce conflicts where one password manager might interfere with the pop-ups and prompts from the other. It's why I recommend only using one password manager at a time.

Tonight I made a crucial 1P password for a login, Hit OK. then realized later I was not asked by 1P to store it on my iMac

Can you share the website address where you encountered this issue so that I can try to reproduce it?
