On 1pwd7, being told to upg to 1pwd8, why is this not an auto upd ?

Hi,

I pay annually, all is fine, in the past every once in a while 1password would auto update. I'm on 7.9.10 version.

Now it seems for some reason I need to manually do something to install 1pwd8 rather than the software simply updating.

Why ? I looked at another post and that seemed to suggest I should manually download 1pwd8 ! Why ?

Is there somewhere I can get the instructions on how to simply click up "upgrade" and it takes my version 7 to version 8 without all of the faff and without leaving old versions etc ?
