Open and fill not working

Have 1Password v. 8.10.33, Safari v. 2.24.2. Open and fill does not work for using either the Safari icon at the top, or from the main screen in the application. I have uninstalled the Safari app and reinstalled, and booted. OS is Sonoma 14.1.1. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hello @minciardi! 👋

I'm sorry that open and fill isn't working in Safari on your Mac. An update was just released for the 1Password app for the Mac, could you update to see if that improves things:

If you still see the issue after updating then can you tell me what happens when you click on the website address in the 1Password for Mac app? Does Safari open but your login isn't filled? Or does nothing happen at all?

I did the update. When I click on open and fill, it opens Safari to the appropriate sign in webpage, but nothing fills in. When I try to click in the name/password areas, nothing happens. Previously, if I clicked several times, it sometimes filled in the name/PW. Not anymore. Suggestions? Thanks. Love the product, but not a bit frustrating.

@minciardi

Thank you for the reply. Do you see the 1Password icon when you click on either the username or password field? If you do then what happens when you click on that icon:

Do you see your login suggested and does 1Password fill your login when you click on that suggestion?

No, since the update, this does not come up.

On some sites, it does come up. And it works if I click it. But if the 1PW main page says, open and fill, why should I have to click the small icon when the page opens up. A bit redundant. Besides, this used to work without doing this.

Hello @minciardi, I'm sorry about the trouble.

I understand the 1Password icon does not appear in a field. Does the 1Password for Safari icon appear in Safari's toolbar? If it does appear, what happens when you click the icon? If not, does 1Password for Safari appear in Safari's Extensions list?

  1. Open Safari. Click "Safari" in the macOS menu bar and select "Settings".
  2. In the Extensions tab, does 1Password for Safari appear in the list?

Are you experiencing this issue on a specific or all websites?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Yes. After testing a few different sites, some fill in automatically, some show up with the small icon and I have to click it, and some open up with no icon at all, and I have to copy and paste from the main 1PW screen.

Hello @minciardi.

Can you please share the website URLs you're experiencing an issue with so I can test them on my end?
