passkey-firefox-fingerprint

So first, i love 1password. its been a great experience since i started using it many years ago. i was excited today to see the update on my iphone after the ios 17 upgrade. i added a passkey for bestbuy and everything worked on the phone. so cool.

came home and updated my debian laptop and i tried the same for the bestbuy site. even deleted the 1password browser extension and reinstalled the newest. i get a message in firefox to touch my security key when i add a passkey. i touch my fingerprint reader (which i use to login AND open 1password) but nothing happens.

am i missing a step in the setup for the desktop environment?
