Passkeys with 1Password

Thank you for the question! You can turn off saving and signing in with passkeys in 1Password on your Macbook by following these steps:

1. Open your browser and unlock 1Password.
2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser and click Settings.
3. Click Autofill.
4. Turn off "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys".

Out of curiosity, is there are reason why you don't wish to save your passkeys in 1Password? I recommend saving all of your passwords and passkeys in 1Password so that they're available on all of your devices and protected using 1Password's security and encryption.

I am new and I guess we are all new to passkeys. I would like to understand how they work natively before I integrate them with 1 password. I put more trust in apple's security over 1password for many reasons and also will have them on all my apple devices so that is not a reason either.

Thanks for the reply. Passkeys saved in 1Password are protected using the same end-to-end encryption and security that your passwords and other items are. No one but you can access passkeys that you save in 1Password because only you have the two secrets needed to decrypt and unlock your 1Password account:

• Your account password.
• Your Secret Key.
