Password 8 & dropbox vault

Before I upgrade and use Password 8, can I still have my primary vault reside in my DropBox account? Or does that option go away in PW8?

Thanks for reaching out! With 1Password 8, there's no need to use Dropbox to store your account vault information. Instead all of your items are backed up and made available to all of your devices using your 1Password.com account itself. This service is included with your subscription to 1Password and older standalone vaults synced using Dropbox are no longer supported.

1Password.com accounts are more convenient, support more features like family sharing, and are more secure. You can learn more about upgrading here: Upgrade to 1Password 8

Hi Dave. So, thank you for your answer. However, I earlier downloaded 1PW8 on my iphone, and I did not see the option to migrate my data from my Dropbox vault. How can I do that?

I'm sorry that you didn't see an option to migrate items from your older standalone vault stored in Dropbox. Follow the steps in this guide to reinstall 1Password 7 and migrate your items: Migrate your existing 1Password data from standalone vaults to a 1Password account

We also have a migration team that would be happy to walk you through the process, you can reach them by sending an email to support@1Password.com and including a link to this thread.
