Question

Passwords in 1PW8 and Extension are being concealed against my settings and wishes

I have 1PW8 Mac set to always show passwords and credit card numbers all the time

MAIN APP - shows OK in view, but if I go into edit the dreaded blobs appear, which is infuriating as I need to see the password when editing
EXTENSION - even worse, all passwords appear concealed all the time unless I manually select reveal

I do NOT want passwords concealed anywhere, my choice

Never a problem in 1PW7

Any idea how to stop this from happening?

Cheers Robert

Hi @robfol:

Great question. As it currently stands, the "always show passwords and credit card numbers" option only applies when you're in view mode, not edit mode. Additionally, 1Password in the browser doesn't have a setting for this. I've added your thoughts to an issue we have tracking this.

@robfol

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Our developers have released a fix for the issue in the latest version of 1Password:

Concealed fields (like password and credit card) are now shown in edit mode when “Always show passwords and full credit card numbers” is turned on in Settings > Security.

Please update to version 8.10.58 or later: How to keep 1Password up to date
