Or add option to do so. I am right-handed and you now put search in the top left corner where it is most difficult to reach while using smartphone with one hand.

Hello @revanmj! 👋

Thank you for the feedback! Having a persistent search bar in the mobile app for Android and iOS, rather than a button in the navigation bar, has been one of our most frequently requested features. That being said, I've shared your feedback with the team as we continue to iterate on the search experience in the 1Password app.

For the time being, if you're having trouble reaching the search bar, have you tried using one-handed mode on your Android device: Use one-handed mode - Android Accessibility Help

I second this! Please add the option to add this back to the bottom bar, it's so much more user friendly on larger phones 🙏 Was very disappointed to see it move

Adding my vote to this. Large phones make reaching all the way to the search bar very difficult...

@1P_Dave
It can stay persistent at the top, but at least add search icon on bottom bar that focuses on search bar (or add option to do so). Currently bottom bar has lots of space, so bringing back 4th icon should be be an issue :)
And yes, I am aware of one hand mode, but it is more cumbersome to use than simply adding search button to bottom bar.

Or maybe keep the buttons as they are now, but at least focus the search bar when tapping a second time on any of the buttons?

@1P_Dave the issue is not the bar itself - having it visible permanently makes sense. The issue is that before you could double-tap the Search button in the bottom bar to stick the cursor in the search bar which was incredibly useful when phones are so large nowadays. It's now incredibly cumbersome to navigate to the top bar.

Ideally, allowing the search bar to be put at the bottom of the screen would be the best option, as that's where all the main buttons are. But aside from that, any sort of bottom bar shortcut to focus the search bar would be most appreciated. E.g. hold and swipe up on home to "throw" the cursor to the top box.

Thanks

Before, I used to be able to double tap on a bottom portion of the screen, with one hand, and be able to search. Now it REQUIRES 2 hands, or moving into one-handed mode (if you have it) which takes much more time and effort.

Please being the quick search back!

Yes, please do NOT move it to the top. It is very counter-productive because:

a) apps commonly have the search button at the bottom
b) it is impossible to use 1password now with 1 hand as you cannot reach the search box at the top
c) it is just so much simpler to double press the search icon at the bottom bar to open search and start typing query --> now you need to press back to get to front page as it is the ONLY place where search is or press home to get to home page as it is the ONLY place where search is
d) recommendation to use one-handed-mode in Android is just silly suggestion to fix issue in your app
e) there is no "persistent search bar in the mobile app for Android and iOS", it is only shown on the front page so why are you saying it is persistent @1P_Dave ?
f) there's is well enough space at the bottom to have the search button there, so why remove it in the first place?

Extremely bad design, please switch back to usable UX.
