Possible Bug in 1password Safari Extension 8.12.33 or Safari/MacOS at 26.6.2

When Using the Safari Extension to login into Vanguard site at https://investor.vanguard.com it is redirecting to site https://instlogon.vanguard.com/login? ………

Since Safari is my default browser, I retried the URL from the 1Password Desktop app and it drives through to the proper URL.

I did turn off autofill on extension to no avail. I also clicked directly on the URL “open and fill” option in the extension. I also removed all URL’s in 1PW such that it only has 1 URL to reference.

This behavior just started after the install of MacOS 26.6.2, which updated Safari to 26.6.2, and the 1Password Extension was updated to 8.12.33 (i.e support for Claude agents, etc) a couple of days ago.

Cleared Cache on safari and restarted multiple times. Rebooted multiple times. Not sure if there is a cache entry lingering which would cause this.

Anyone else noting any strange behavior? I can’t pin it down to one product as this issue didn’t notice it till after all 3 updates.

Hi @rickapel and @AMcDonel45, thanks for reporting that you’re being redirected to the wrong Vanguard page when attempting to log in.

I can confirm that this is a known issue our team are currently looking into. I've added your cases to the internal tracker, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused.

In the meantime, as you’ve noted, using Open and fill from the desktop app should take you to the correct URL.

I have this same exact problem using the extension in Firefox. I tried all of the suggestions I could find on the web to no avail. Then I added the extension to Chrome and tried with the same results going to the institutional website. I called Vanguard and asked if they had any information if it may be a Vanguard website issue.and they did not. So I will follow this issue as it seems to be with 1Password.

I had called Vanguard initially also, but the web site appears to behave normally when I manually type in URL’s and from the perspective of invoking from the 1password desktop app.
