Pre-populated login field issues

There already was a topic about the new (disturbing) feature of the login field being pre-populated. Many of us do not want the login field to be filled with an email address, because we want to use aliases or different email addresses for different logins. So now we have to clear the login field everything we want to create a new login item.

Today I noticed that, upon creating a login from a website, when you replace the nonsensical prefilled login address with the one you want to use, the login is not saved at all! Instead the field is left empty. That is really troublesome. Instead of the process being simplified, it is in fact now more difficult.

Once again, this feature is totally unwanted, but also very poorly implemented. I hope 1Password will quickly fix this and restore the app to it’s previously higher standard. 

At least make this feature optional, please, it is not working.

    Thank you for reaching out! Regarding the login field being pre-populated with the username and password for login items in the 1Password app, I've passed along your feedback to the team. 

    Today I noticed that, upon creating a login from a website, when you replace the nonsensical prefilled login address with the one you want to use, the login is not saved at all!     I'm not able to reproduce this issue, can you tell me a little more about the steps that you took to reproduce the issue? Are you creating the login directly in the 1Password for iOS app? Or using Password AutoFill or 1Password in Safari?

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for taking the time to respond and for passing my feedback on to the team.

    This happened while registering a login on a website in Safari on iOS. 1Password automatically pops up and gives me the option to generate a password and store the new login in the 1Password database. Which is what I want.

    The only difference is that I have to delete the suggested email address now and paste in the alias I want to use. After clicking on save and fill in (or something like that), the account was created in the website the way I wanted it to be. But when I looked up the new login in 1Password, I noticed the new entry had only saved the password. Later I found that a second entry was also there, containing only the alias I had pasted. So there were two new entries! I didn’t see that before I posted here.

    I used the same routine as I have done many times before, except with the trouble of having to change te email/login. Who knows, maybe it was all my fault, but still I would say it is because of the new way you now have to create new logins. 

    I really hope this feature will be changed (reversed) soon.
