QR code based login on any browser

Hi,
I sometimes need to log in on friends' computers when I don't have mine with me.
Every time I need to go through the tedious mail / Secret Key / Password typing, although I'm logged in on my iPhone.
Could you offer a QR code based login, showing a QR code in the browser (without having to enter any information) that we can scan with the app and that would "automagically" log us in on the browser ?
I saw in your blog post that you offer this now to log in on the app (if I understood correctly), but it would be so useful to log in on the web interface.
Regards.

Hello folks,

I wanted to share an update that you can now sign into 1Password in a browser by scanning a QR code using the mobile app:

You can read more about this feature here. Thanks again for all of the feedback!

Hello @Djeross! 👋

Thanks for the feedback! The team is working on a brand new sign-in experience in the beta version which you can read more about here: New Sign-In Experience (Beta) — 1Password Community

This experience isn't yet available for 1Password.com but I'll let the team know that you'd like to see it supported there as well.

We're also testing passkey unlock in beta which will allow you to sign in to 1Password on a device using a passkey, even if that passkey is located on your phone by scanning a QR code. More information here: Unlock 1Password with a passkey (beta)

Hopefully these improvements make it to the stable version of 1Password soon.

I'll vote for this too. Many times I can't install the heavy client on a desktop - and I would like to use either a QR code or auth app challenge to log into the plugin and not have to type my uber long 1p password every time I lock the screen...

@jdranchman

Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like your request is a little different from the original poster's. You might want to take a look at our passkey unlock beta, it would allow you to unlock 1Password using a passkey (which you can use by scanning a QR code using your mobile device): Unlock 1Password with a passkey (beta)

That sounds interesting. I'll give that a test. I do need Linux support though so I hope that is in the pipeline.

Hi @1P_Dave,

I completely missed the announcement on this feature, and just tested it... it's awesome !!

Thanks to the team for implementing this, and making it so seamless.

I hope we'll soon see the same happen for the two most requested features that are still pending 😉

Regards.
