[rbcroyalbank.com] Unable to fill login credentials

I'm sorry that you're running into filling issues on Royal Bank's website, I've split your post into a new thread to keep it separate from the issue being discussed in the other thread. 

I've just tested filling in Safari on my Mac and things appear to be working for me. Here's what I'm doing: 

1. Open Safari.
2. Go to: http://www.rbcroyalbank.com
3. Click Sign In.
4. Click in the "Client Name or Username" field and then click on my suggested login from 1Password. 1Password will submit the username or you can click Next. 
5. The password should be already filled in. Click Sign In.

Are you following different steps? At which specific steps does the process stop working?

That path works for me too. But it's not the path I use. My path is:

1. I have RBC favourited in 1Password with https://secure.royalbank.com/signin.html as the first web address in the 1Password entry.
2. I click on the 1Password icon on the Safari toolbar, scroll down to RBC, and click on "Open and Fill", which opens the above URL.
3. Rather than fill in my RBC username, a drop down asks whether I want to fill in my username, or my spouse's username (they are also an RBC client in 1Password).
4. I click my username, and move to the password dialog.
5. This time, I don't get prompted with a drop down and the password field is blank. However if I click on it, I am asked whether I want to use my username, or my spouse's. I click mine and the password is entered.

So the path is different, but perhaps the root cause is that 1Password loses track of the context between steps - that it is me and not my spouse who is logging in?

While I can't comment on macOS specifically, I do bank with RBC.  I have multiple logins stored within 1Password as I have business and personal accounts there.

Using Edge on Windows, when I go to https://secure.royalbank.com/signin.html, I can click within the Client Card or Username field and select the appropriate login from the 1Password modal.  My client card number is auto-filled and auto-submitted.  Subsequently, my password is also auto-filled and auto-submitted.

@1P_Dave I've played around with this a bit more. If you paste https://secure.royalbank.com/signin.html into the Safari address bar it works as expected. This is more-or-less what you observed above.

However if you launch "Open & Fill" from either the 1Password application OR the Safari toolbar, it does not work as expected.

So, most likely, it has something to do with how Open & Fill is implemented. (And as a pedantic note, some places it is spelled "Open and fill" and other places "Open & Fill"!

To add to this discussion,  oftentimes sites will use a different host to perform authentication services, in contrast to the launch URL. Adding all alternative URLs to the 1Password entry improves site recognition.

For RBC, I have the following URLs (The 1P "website" property):

https://www.royalbank.com
https://www.rbcroyalbank.com
https://secure.royalbank.com

@1P_Dave FYI I've had those 3 URLs in my RBC 1Password entry for many moons now.
