Re: Desktop app and extension don't integrate

I dunno if necro-ing this thread is better or if staring a new post/thread entirely is better.

But this is happening again, where the extension fails to load, autofill doesn't work, multiple times a day.

The "fix" is to turn off the the extension (in Safari settings) and turn it back on again, then it works for awhile. And think it's only happening if you have multiple profiles which maybe few people do?

MacOS 15.4 Beta (24E5238a) (i'm updating to the 24E248 non-beta right now)
Safari Version 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.5)

1Password browser extension version 8.10.70.27

Hello @instanttim! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password for Safari is running into issues again, I've split your newest comment into a new thread just to keep the discussion focused on the latest versions of 1Password.

When 1Password for Safari stops working, do you see an error message that says Oops, something went wrong when loading when you click on the 1Password icon in Safari's toolbar? If you do then does the extension start working again when you click the Reload 1Password button in the pop-up?

If you don't see the "Oops" error message when you open the 1Password pop-up then what do you see? Do you see an "Open 1Password" button? I look forward to hearing from you.

I don't know how to reliably reproduce or otherwise make it happen.

It's a bit spotty. Right after I posted it started working fine again for a month or two.

But this morning I got the following:

  1. extension shows the "Reload" button and message. Clicking the button repeatedly does nothing.
  2. Turning off extension and turning it back on eventually brings it back (although not right away)
  3. Usually requires refresh of the page you were trying to sign-in on.

And just now I got the "oops" version later the same day. Clicking reload doesn't do anything.

But then an hour later it's working fine 🤷
