Repeatedly asked to sign into 1Password in Chrome

Adding to this thread as it appears to be the same problem I am having:
I am constantly being asked to sign in to the Chrome extension. I just installed the extension 8 days ago. Why does the extension keep asking me to sign in multiple times per day when I'm still using the same browser session?

Thanks for answering those questions. It sounds like you're not being asked to sign into 1Password in the browser, in that case you would need to re-enter all of your account information, but you are being asked to unlock 1Password since it's locked. If the desktop app isn't installed, 1Password in the browser will lock in the following situations:

  1. If you close the browser or restart your device.
  2. If your auto-lock settings are triggered.

You can check your auto-lock settings here: Manage auto-lock in the 1Password browser extension

Let me know if changing those settings to your preferred options helps.

Hello @SIMMSHOPE! 👋

I'm split your post into a new thread, let's continue the conversation here so that we keep everything in once place.

I understand that you're being repeatedly asked to sign into the 1Password browser extension in Chrome. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

  1. Are you just being asked for your account password to unlock 1Password in Chrome? Or are you being asked for all of your account information all over again: account password + Secret Key + email address.
  2. Do you have the 1Password desktop app installed?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dave,

  1. Password only.
  2. No. (Company manages software and has not installed it.)
