Repeatedly entering password

Following a 1Password update, I now have to enter my 1Password password each time I open it. How do I disable this so that once I am signed in on an open  browser, I stay signed in?

Hello @ErnieS! 👋

I'm sorry that you're being asked to enter your account password more often than expected. You've tagged multiple platforms in your post, can you clarify if you're seeing this on your Mac or your iOS device? And which browser are you using?

As a start, check to make sure that your auto-lock settings are as you'd like them to be: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

I look forward to hearing from you.

I mostly use Firefox on iOS or on my desktop Mac. Occasionally I use Chrome.

@ErnieS

Thank you for letting my know which browser you use. I suggest that we focus on one device at a time. On your Mac please do the following:

  1. Make sure that the desktop app is installed: Download 1Password
  2. Check your auto-lock settings to have 1Password lock when you'd like it to: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

If you still see the issue after following these steps then please tell me the following:

  1. Were you prompted to unlock 1Password sooner than expected when using the desktop app? Or the browser extension?
  2. Can you post a screenshot of your auto-lock settings?

I look forward to hearing from you.
