Safari Autofill Blocks 1Password Username Autofill

Any solution besides turning off Safari "Autofill web forms: using information from my contacts"? Safari Auutofil from Contacts interferes with 1P Username autofill on numerous sites.

Hello @mdvzo! 👋

It looks like you still have Safari's built-in filling options turned on and that's conflicting with 1Password in Safari. You can turn them off by following these steps:

I don't recommend using both the built-in filling options and 1Password at the same time. Let me know if that doesn't work.

That was the point of my post. 1Password has issues filling forms when these two settings are turned on, but the filling of usernames and passwords is turned off.

@mdvzo

You'll need to turn off all four options in Safari:

  • Using information from my contacts
  • User names and passwords
  • Credit cards
  • Other forms

You've currently set Safari to suggest emails via the "Using information from my contacts" feature and this is conflicting with 1Password's suggestion menu. Having both Safari and 1Password try to render a suggestion underneath the email field will produce conflicts of the type that you're seeing.

Hey Dave, first of all let me say that I'm using this community because you technotrashers made reaching out to support impossible. Your technotrash piece of crap chatbot Paddy takes few seconds to say a word so just launching it and waiting for it to produce greetings takes few minutes. Saying something takes a minute (text I type doesn't appear when I type it, takes at least few seconds delay) and every response takes few seconds for a word at least. That's beyong being pathetic. I already sent a request to terminate my 1Password membership and refund my money unless you fix that crap NOW.

Now, to the point still. While your suggestion should work it's not a solution. Unchecking this box in Safari will disable autocomplete for all forms including e-mail, phone, address. I use this a lot when making some e-commerce order etc. and it's helpful. You suggest to disable very helpful Safari feature because you can't fix your own autocomplete and how it works with Safari right?

WHAT WE ARE PAYING YOU FOR? FOR PADDY THAT STOLEN AN HOUR OF MY TIME TODAY? WE PAY FOR TECHNOTRASH? I'M LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVES AND I'M OK TO PAY 2X MORE BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE TECHNOTRASH WITH PATHETIC DISRESPECT TO CUSTOMERS BY PUTTING CRAPPY TRASHY DISGUSTING DISFUNCTIONAL BEYOND REPAIR CHAT BOT.

I hit this all the time as I'm using Hide My Email on more and more sites.

The Safari autofill overlays the 1password autofill all the time. Even after using Hide My Email to generate a new email on a site after which it's not required.

@gdhnz

Thanks for reaching out. I recommend turning off Safari's built-in filling functionality since it will conflict with 1Password's filling functionality: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser

That being said, I'll pass your feedback along to the team internally.

Not really helpful when it's the only way to get access to Hide my email.

It's a shame you can't integrate with the apple autocomplete or change the location to above the field.
